This course is for motivated students who are interested in developing skills and knowledge in computer technology, business and leadership. Students will learn technical skills in refurbishing computer systems and properly using applications, as well as business skills in workplace etiquette, customer service and project management. Students develop these skills through hands-on projects that serve their school community. Through these projects, students will develop academic skills in problem solving, public speaking, writing, research, and critical thinking, as well as core technology skills. Emphasis will be placed on computer technology basics and IT career exploration.

This course is for motivated students who are interested in furthering their skills in computer technology, business and leadership. Students will learn technical skills in refurbishing computer systems and properly using applications, as well as business skills in workplace etiquette, customer service and project management. Students will learn hardware and software troubleshooting, advanced software applications and begin studying the fundamentals of networking. Students also learn business skills such as sales, pricing and socially responsible business practices. Students develop these skills by taking part in hands-on projects that serve their school community. Through these projects, students develop academic skills in problem solving, public speaking, writing, research and critical thinking. This course is designed to be the introduction to become CompTIA's A+ PC Technician certified. Successful completion of this course will prepare students to take Computer Technology IV their senior year.

Students will expand upon their knowledge and experience gained from Computer Technology III. More advanced topics on troubleshooting and maintaining the personal computer, its related equipment and networking will be taught. Opportunities to gain on and off-site hands on experience exist for students who meet specific requirements. Emphasis will be placed on preparing for CompTIA's Network+ certification exams.

This course is for motivated students who are interested in developing skills and knowledge in computer fundamentals with an emphasis on preparing for the Computing Fundamentals portion of the Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3). IC3 is the first industry standard, globally accepted, standards-based, validated certification program for basic computing skills. Becoming IC3 certified demonstrates that you possess the knowledge required for basic use of computer hardware, software, and the Internet. Students develop these skills through hands-on projects. Through these projects, students will develop academic skills in problem solving, public speaking, writing, research, and critical thinking, as well as core technology skills. Emphasis will be placed on computer technology basics and IT career exploration. Successful completion of this course will prepare students to take Computer Technology II 2nd semester.
