Overview

The Hospitality Management Program is the newest program in the technical division here at Tantasqua Regional High School. The three-year program is designed to provide training and skills development in the leading service industries: Hotel and Restaurant Management. The program will offer hands-on training and real-world experience at area hotels and restaurants.

Hotel curriculum will cover all aspects of the industry from reservations to accounting to banquet management as well as housekeeping, security and reservations. Restaurant Management curriculum will include special functions, dining room supervision, and Point of Service operation. Students will assist in the running of the Culinary Arts program student-run Cornerstone Café by staffing and supervising front of the house. Planned cooperative education opportunities will take place in area hotel and restaurant partnerships.

Students will earn OSHA, ServSafe Manager, ServSafe Allergen and ServSafe Alcohol, and First Aid/CPR certification. Our focus is to train valued Guest Service employees, who upon graduation will be able to find numerous employment opportunities in various areas such as dining room supervisor, banquet chef, front desk supervisor, and managers in area restaurants and hotels. With advanced training, careers are available in positions such as a restaurant manager, food and beverage director, banquet manager, concierge, and in the office of human resources.
